Literature Text

In a veiling gloom,
Arrayed from the fading lights,
Of a falling sun,
And the deepening shadows,
Of a rising moon,
Appears the demised queen,
With dress folds blowing,
And silver hair glowing,
Upon the threshold of her tomb.

In its veiling gloom,
A domed hall's beckoning sights,
Whose marbled pillars stun,
And its lustrous echoes,
Educed by cavernous rune,
Roams his beloved queen,
With decayed hems gliding,
And crown less shining,
To the pool where memories loom.

In his veiling gloom,
He summoned the kingdom's wrights,
Upon ancient mystical ground,
Where Yamunaji power flows,
In a sepulchre room,
Interred his spirited queen,
With blue silk gleaming,
And soul still dreaming,
Old bones unfold from ageless ruin....

When rises the moon,
And falls the sun,
You may see her in the dimming light,
Waiting by the mirroring pools, all clad in blue or sometimes white...
